Our “Meet the Researcher” events offer the opportunity for researchers to engage directly with our community, and for those affected by Parkinson’s Disease to learn at first hand of the progress being made. The (first?) Covid-19 Lockdown stymied an event for which we had a full house had to be cancelled. Our speakers kindly agreed to alternative arrangements.
Thus was Meet The Researcher Online (MTRO) born!
- Claire Baile’s talk on the reasons why there is as yet no cure, followed by a Q and A session is available here.
- Dr. Will Young’s talk about his work on gait disturbance, also with the PenPRIG Panel, is available here.
- and although none of us knew it at the time, Dr. Stephen Mullin’s talk on Genetic Factors In Parkinson’s to our inaugural meeting set us on the way.
The next MTRO event, featuring a very well-known figure in the Parkinson’s research world, will be published in late October.
We are planning a full-day conference in the Autumn of 2021, and a resumption of “Meet the Researcher” events when some kind of normal returns to public gatherings. We hope you will be able to join us then.
