Who we are

This website represents the Peninsula Parkinson’s Research Interest Group (PenPRIG). We are an unincorporated group of volunteers promoting participation in the research of Parkinson’s Disease, particularly by people living in Cornwall and Devon.

Your Rights

Any of your personal information held by PenPRIG is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and we are committed to the correct implementation of it.  Amongst other rights, you have the right to access the information we hold about you, and have it changed, no longer be used or erased.  We describe how to exercise this right at the end of this page.

The information we display

This website displays information about research into Parkinson’s that is gathered from many reputable sources.  We write articles and express opinions.

We disclose contact information only if it is already in the public domain or because we have been given explicit permission consent to do so.

The information we collect

The Contact Form is the only place on this website where personal data can be collected. Your name and email address is required. You may choose to give us additional personal information in the Contact Form and/or by communication through our Facebook Group and by email, post and telephone.

We do not sell or rent the information we collect to anyone, nor do we purchase such information.

Other websites that we link to have their own privacy policies.  We do not accept any responsibility or liability for them, so please check their privacy policies before you submit personal data.

The information we hold

We hold information that enables the operation of the website and we may from time to time collect performance data to help us manage the content and effectiveness of the website. Website statistics may be retained in perpetuity. For details of these technical matters please refer to our Cookie Policy.

Information we gather through the Contact Form and other communication is securely stored and managed to professional standards. Contact Forms that are not responded or engender no significant follow-up are routinely reviewed and deleted within 12 months of receipt.

How to exercise your Rights

In order to exercise your rights, you will need to prepare a “Subject Access Request” and send it to  We can help you present it verbally instead, and you can also authorise someone else to submit the request on your behalf.

PenPRIG is allowed up to one month to respond to a valid request.  You can then have us correct any information that we hold about you, stop using it or erase it.  We will do this straightaway unless we are prevented from doing so by law or by a contract.
